Affiliate Disclosure
Honesty about how MunafaLab makes money — so you can read every post knowing exactly where our incentives sit.
Short version: some links on MunafaLab are affiliate links. If you sign up via one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products we would write about regardless of commission.
1. What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a tracked URL provided by a company (a broker, AMC, credit card issuer, fintech platform, etc.). If you click such a link and complete a qualifying action — such as opening a demat account, applying for a credit card, or starting an SIP — MunafaLab may receive a referral commission from the company. The price, fees, and terms you pay remain the same as if you went directly to the company.
2. Categories where we may use affiliate links
- Stock brokers and demat accounts — discount and full-service brokers operating in India.
- Mutual fund platforms — direct-plan and regular-plan investment apps.
- Credit cards — bank and co-branded credit cards (HDFC, SBI, Axis, ICICI, Amex, etc.).
- Insurance aggregators — term, health, and vehicle insurance comparison platforms.
- Personal-finance tools — budgeting, tax-filing, credit-score, and bookkeeping apps.
- Books and online courses — Indian and global personal-finance education resources.
We do notparticipate in pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, "guaranteed return" schemes, unregulated lending apps, crypto exchanges that don't comply with Indian regulations, or any paid "tip" services.
3. How we keep editorial independence
- Editorial decisions are made independently. Whether a product is recommended, criticised, or ignored does not depend on whether it pays us.
- No pay-to-play.We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews, rankings, or inclusion in "best of" lists.
- Sponsored content is labelled. If any post is paid or sponsored, it will be clearly marked as such at the top of the post — separate from affiliate-link disclosure.
- We compare honestly. Where two competing products both have affiliate programmes, we will say which we think is better and why — even when it earns us less.
4. How you can spot an affiliate link
Every post that contains affiliate links carries an explicit affiliate notice near the top of the post (typically a highlighted box). Where space allows, individual affiliate links are tagged with a small (affiliate) marker.
5. Your choice
You are never obliged to use an affiliate link. If you prefer, you can navigate directly to the product's website by typing its URL in your browser or searching for it. The product features, pricing, and customer protections will be the same. Using our affiliate link is a free way to support MunafaLab's ongoing research — but it is entirely optional.
6. Tax and regulatory disclosure
Affiliate commissions received by MunafaLab are accounted for as business income of the sole proprietor (Kishan Patel) and are subject to applicable Indian tax laws. Affiliate relationships do not create any advisory, agency, or fiduciary relationship between you and MunafaLab, nor between MunafaLab and the partner company. See our Disclaimer.
7. Missed a disclosure? Tell us.
If you spot a post that has affiliate links but is missing the notice, email contact@munafalab.com with the post URL and we will add the disclosure within 48 hours.
8. Changes
As partnerships change, we may add or remove the categories listed above. This page will always reflect our current arrangements. The "Last updated" date below shows the most recent revision.
